We set the benchmark for trust, quality, and fitness for use, of construction materials and systems across the building sector.
We enable the go-to-market of the most innovative products and services in trust.
SECO Belgium SA is accredited by BELAC as an inspection body for construction materials and building systems within the framework of certification.
In addition, SECO can also be engaged to carry out batch product inspections or technical expertise assessments, with the aim of preparing a well-founded and substantiated opinion on innovative products or systems, processes, or services.
We offer standards guidance upstream of product innovations to facilitate their market entry and elevate quality.
We also offer guidance during the implementation of processes, management systems, or any other service in the construction sector.
We issue attestations validating that a given product complies with specific technical requirements for the relevant application within a defined context. This facilitates the rapid and safe use of innovative products.
A process attestation can also be issued to confirm the implementation of an internal quality system, for example, in the context of reused materials (e.g. Safety in Circularity).
Upon requests, we draw up the specifications for the tests to be carried out on materials and construction systems, depending on their application.
We assess the conformity of materials and construction systems to standards using methods that comply with international standards and are controlled by the competent authorities, mainly in the context of certification.
We organise training courses as part of specific certifications or systems and support our customers in achieving these.
We provide the testing and inspection services that are a prerequisite for certification by BCCA and other accredited bodies.
Furthermore, SECO Belgium is an approval operator within UBAtc in the context of technical approvals with certification (ATG) and European Technical Assessments (ETA).
Finally, SECO Belgium acts as an inspection body in the context of BENOR certification.
As part of regional, national and European research projects (Horizon projects), SECO actively makes its high-level technical expertise available to the manufacturers and designers of tomorrow’s construction products and systems. It also trains its engineers in techniques and technologies of the future.
