ZAS Cadix is the tallest hospital in the city of Antwerp, standing at 88 metres high. However, it is not only its height that makes it an exceptional building. Its location in the city center, its bright architectural design, the suspended spiral staircase, and the aluminium and green-blue ceramic façade also contribute to its uniqueness.
The impression left by ZAS Cadix today is the result of technical innovations and expertise, to which SECO contributed significantly as the technical inspection body.
➡️ The façade is composed of ceramic and aluminium panels. This combination creates a mosaic-like effect while meeting the structural requirements for a façade of this height. It also complies with the necessary technical approval. SECO’s extensive expertise made it possible to recommend the optimal solution for this specific case.
➡️ The load-bearing structure includes a significant amount of precast concrete and extends over multiple floors. SECO supported the resolution of the technical challenges encountered throughout the project.
Across all projects, SECO’s engineers encourage dialogue with construction stakeholders and position themselves as proactive partners. They rely on intensive training and the experience gained through numerous projects to constructively challenge proposed solutions, serving the project owner and all other construction players.
